You can import a workflow item configuration from a .wmc file to configure new workflow items in another ArcGIS Workflow Manager system. If the workflow item to which you want to import the configuration file contains jobs, they must be deleted before you can import a configuration file. To import a workflow configuration file from a newer version of Workflow Manager, upgrade your workflow item to the latest version.
Caution:
When a .wmc file is imported, all workflow item data is overwritten and cannot be restored.
Complete the following steps to import a workflow item configuration:
- Access the Workflow Manager web app.
- Click the Design tab.
The Design page appears.

If you don't have sufficient privileges, the Design tab is not available.
- Click Settings .

If you don’t have sufficient privileges, Settings is not available.
- Click the Import Data tab.
- Click Select File and browse to the location of the .wmc file.
- If you exported encrypted settings, check the Import encrypted settings check box and provide the passphrase in the text box.
- Click Import data from selected file.
The workflow item configuration is imported.
